Did you know that you’re the goose that lays the golden egg?
In one of Aesop’s fables, a farmer is lucky enough to own a goose that lays golden eggs. So what does the farmer do? He kills the goose so that he can get at all the eggs inside it.
Clearly, this was not a good idea. What the farmer should have done is lovingly cared for the goose, to make sure it kept laying golden eggs for years to come.
Stephen Covey, in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, discusses the fact that you are your best income-producing asset. If you’re not willing to look after your health for any other reason, then let that be your motivating force!
